We welcome Host Families whether you have children, you're retired, working or single. There is no requirement for you to be a 'family' in the conventional sense. The unifying factor is the willingness to provide a warm, homely environment where TONBRIDGE HOST FAMILIES students are treated as family members.
The students are out all day, making it ideal to fit around work or family life. The students want to learn English, therefore speaking a foreign language is not a requirement.
Although a Host Family role is a paid one, for our Hosts it is much more than just financial reward. The right Host can really make a difference to the experience for a young person while they are away from home in the UK. We have many students who have formed a lifelong bond with their Host Families, which is extremely rewarding.
The English family is the real link with the British culture and are part of the students lasting memories of their school trip to the UK.

Register your interest with us and we'll be happy to call you whenever is convenient.
Your local organiser will then arrange a host family visit to meet you and advise you on how you can best use your space for hosting.
Complete our registration form and provide copies of necessary documents in order to complete the registration process.
You'll receive confirmed group dates. Please confirm your availability to host. You will then be allocated your required hosting weeks and student details will follow.
Get ready to welcome your first guests by preparing the communal spaces in your home and getting the shopping in for the stay.
Simply all that's left to do is meet your students on arrival night with a warm welcome and a big smile and enjoy your hosting experience!
